Each Week 1 Performance From Rebels In The NFL

Former Ole Miss Rebels are widespread throughout the NFL, and they made their mark, especially in the receiving game.

The Ole Miss Rebels had 12 players on as many teams find their name within a box score in Week 1 of the NFL season.

Four former Rebels — wide receivers Jonathan Mingo and Malik Heath and linebackers Otis Reese IV and Tavius Robinson — all made their professional debuts Sunday. However, Heath of the Green Bay Packers and Robinson of the Baltimore Ravens failed to fill the stat sheet.

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver D.K. Metcalf was the only former Rebel to find the end zone in Week 1, beating Los Angeles Rams cornerback Derion Kendrick on a slant-and-go route to corner pylon in the second quarter.

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown had game highs in both receptions and receiving yards, as he and quarterback Jalen Hurts helped escape with a 25-20 win against the New England Patriots. Sunday marked Brown's first game back on the field since his six-reception, 96-yard, one-touchdown performance in the Super Bowl.
