Where Does Ole Miss' QB Battle Rank Among Top Competitions in CFB?

The Ole Miss Rebels quarterback competition is among the best battles in the country entering the 2023 season.

OXFORD, Miss. -- The 2023 college football season is less than a month away, which means we are getting closer to finding out who will win the quarterback competition for the Ole Miss Rebels.

The battle between Jaxson Dart, Spencer Sanders, and Walker Howard has been a hot topic this offseason, and many consider it to be arguably the No. 1 quarterback competition in the country.

247Sports feels differently, however, and recently ranked the Ole Miss battle as the No. 3 quarterback competition in college football. The Rebels are one of six teams to make the cut and are one of four SEC programs listed, joining the Alabama Crimson Tide (No. 1), Georgia Bulldogs (No. 2), and Tennessee Volunteers (No. 6).

"Ole Miss is spoiled with riches at the quarterback position, leaving Lane Kiffin with a tough decision to make," 247Sports writes. "Incumbent Jaxson Dart threw for 2,974 yards, 20 touchdowns and 11 interceptions in 2022. The transfer portal gave him new opportunity when he transferred in from USC and its now left him with steeper competition due to the arrival of former Oklahoma State signal-caller Spencer Sanders and ex-LSU top-100 recruit Walker Howard."

The NCAA Transfer Portal brought Dart to Ole Miss ahead of the 2022 season, but it also brought him competition entering his second year with the Rebels. Dart recently opened up about his initial feelings on the added competition and understands that there is a method to Lane Kiffin's madness.

Kiffin's goal is to field the best team possible entering his fourth season at Ole Miss, and bringing in competition for your returning quarterback is a great way to elevate the roster.

The rankings of the top quarterback competitions in the country can be found below:

1. Alabama Crimson Tide

2. Georgia Bulldogs

3. Ole Miss Rebels

4. Ohio State Buckeyes

5. UCLA Bruins

6. Tennessee Volunteers
