Where Does Quinshon Judkins Rank Among the Top 100 Players in College Football?
OXFORD, Miss. -- There are officially less than 100 days until the 2023 college football season kicks off, which means it is the perfect time to examine the top 100 players in the nation.
On3 released their rankings for the top 100 players entering the 2023 season, and only one Ole Miss Rebel can be found among the sea of talented names. Ole Miss running back Quinshon Judkins was rated as the No. 15 player in college football and the No. 1 returning tailback in the Southeastern Conference.
The only running back ranked higher than Judkins is Michigan Wolverines halfback Blake Corrum (14), who was deep in the 2022 Heisman Trophy race until injury cut his season short. The closest SEC tailback to Judkins is Arkansas Razorbacks running back Raheim "Rocket" Sanders at No. 38.
Judkins is one of the top 15 players heading into the fall after he led the SEC in carries (274), rushing yards (1,567), and rushing touchdowns (16) as a true freshman in 2022. For his incredible efforts, the Pike Road, Ala., native was named the 2022 SEC Freshman of the Year and earned First-Team All-SEC honors.
Judkins was one of the few bright spots on the Ole Miss roster last year after the Rebels finished the 2022 regular season with an overall record of 8-5 after starting off 7-0. If the sophomore tailback can improve upon his production from his freshman year, Judkins may very well find himself as a candidate for the Heisman.
