Where Does Ole Miss WR Tre Harris Rank Among Top 10 Transfer Portal Players?
OXFORD, Miss. -- Ole Miss Rebels receiver Tre Harris is new to the SEC after arriving on campus during the offseason, but it did not take him long to get his bearings as he had a record-setting day versus the Mercer Bears in Week 1 by grabbing four touchdowns.
Harris set the Ole Miss single-game record for receiving touchdowns in his debut with the Rebels after finding the endzone three times in the first three minutes of the contest versus Mercer.
On Thursday, On3 recognized the top 10 college football transfers from Week 1 and ranked Harris as the No. 6 player. Harris is one of two players from the Southeastern Conference to make the rankings and one of three wideouts on the list.
"In his first game in a Rebels uniform, Harris, a transfer from La. Tech, set a program record with four touchdown receptions — and is the only wideout in the county to reach pay-dirt in a single game this season through two weeks," On3 writes. "Harris finished the blowout win over Mercer with six catches for 133 yards, immediately establishing chemistry with Ole Miss starting QB Jaxson Dart."
After losing their top receivers from 2022 to the NFL Draft, the Rebels looked to the NCAA Transfer Portal to find suitable replacements and found Harris, who has exceeded expectations so far.
Harris spent the previous three seasons with the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs recording 106 receptions, 1,527 receiving yards, and 14 touchdowns in 31 games.
