OXFORD, Miss. -- Ole Miss Rebels receiver Tre Harris has quickly become one of the best players at his position in the talented Southeastern Conference after spending the last three years with the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs.

In just seven games this season, Harris has recorded the sixth-most receiving yards in the SEC with 749 and is tied for fourth place in touchdowns with seven. His story is special, as Harris was recruited as a quarterback out of high school. The Lafayette, La., native recently opened up about his transition from a high school quarterback to one of the top receivers in his conference.

"When I first started back at [Louisiana] Tech playing receiver it was challenging," Harris told reporters. "A lot of days where my back was hurting from all that running - had to get used to running a lot. But now that I'm [at Ole Miss] it's not really challenging at all, to be honest. I spent three years perfecting my craft at Louisiana Tech and getting here has allowed me to better my craft as a receiver and it's starting to pay off."

It certainly is paying off, as Pro Football Focus announced on Wednesday that Harris is currently the second-highest-graded receiver in the Power 5 with a 91.6 rating.

What is impressive about Harris' season is that he has done all this while missing two games due to a minor knee procedure. Harris revealed what was the most difficult part about getting over his in-season injury.

"It was more mentally challenging I'd say than anything," Harris said. "You want to be out there with your team, you want to go out and produce with your teammates just like everybody else.

"The biggest thing that helped me through that was just having faith in God to keep trusting my teammates to do their job, trusting my trainer, and just doing what I need to do to get back."

Ole Miss has a huge matchup versus the No. 1 Georgia Bulldogs on Saturday who happen to boast one of the best secondaries in the nation. Harris broke down what he has seen on film so far.

"They have a pretty good nickel [cornerback], some pretty good sized corners, and two really good safeties that we're scouting up," Harris said. "But we've got good players too. We're just going to go out there, line that ball up, and see who comes out on top."

Ole Miss and Georgia are set to kick off at 6:00 p.m. CT on Saturday at Sanford Stadium in Athens, and the game will be televised on ESPN.
