2025 Three-Star Safety Marcus Wimberly Includes Ole Miss in Top 7 Schools
OXFORD, Miss. -- Spring practices are underway for the Ole Miss Rebels following a busy offseason of hunting in the NCAA Transfer Portal, but the 2025 recruitment trail rests for no program. With summer around the corner, high school recruitment is about to pick up again with commitments, official visits, and camps.
So far, the Rebels have only received one pledge for their 2025 signing class in three-star linebacker Corey Amos, but another commit could be on the horizon. Safety Marcus Wimberly revealed his top seven teams on Wednesday, and Ole Miss made the cut.
According to On3, the Bauxite, Ark., native is a three-star recruit, and there are several premier programs competing for his recruitment. Wimberly is rated as the No. 38 safety in the 2025 class and the No. 6 recruit in the state of Arkansas. His announcement can be viewed here, and you can find his final seven teams below.
- Oklahoma Sooners
- Oregon Ducks
- Michigan Wolverines
- Ole Miss Rebels
- Wisconsin Badgers
- Arkansas Razorbacks
- Memphis Tigers

The Rebels are one of the finalists for Wimberly's pledge, but they have some ground to cover in his recruitment. Per On3's recruiting prediction machine, Oklahoma holds a 61.6 percent chance of landing Wimberly, while Michigan is second with 37.0 percent. Wisconsin has less than a one percent chance, and Ole Miss does not even have a horse in the race. Fortunately, the other three teams vying for Wimberly are in the same boat as Ole Miss.
