247Sports Ranks Oregon Football Facilities 'Most lavish' in 2023
Everyone is anxiously awaiting the start of spring football practice in Eugene following Dan Lanning's 10-2 debut season as head coach.
Practices won't begin until the back half of next month, which means the players are spending a lot of time in the weight room with head strength and conditioning coach Wilson Love and in team meetings with their position coaches, trying to take their bodies and their game to the next level.
On Monday 247Sports released their top 25 rankings for the most lavish facilities in college football and there was a familiar name at No. 1: the Oregon Ducks.
Here's some of what 247Sports' Brad Crawford had to say about Oregon's facilities:
"It's hard to believe Oregon's football facilities are already 10 years old, but they haven't aged a bit and much of what you see being built now borrows from the incredible designs in Eugene. The Ducks were trendsetters and will continue to be in the next phase of development. The Ducks' then-$68 million, 145,000-square foot football nest is jaw-dropping. Phil Knight ensured amenities were top-level in his front-porch to the university's athletics department.
When completed in 2013, Oregon's self-cleansing lockers were state-of-the-art and trend-setting, one of Nike's finest innovations and many programs have followed suit. And there's marble showers and Ferrari leather chairs that make this locker room quite cozy. Oregon was one of the initial programs to incorporate a barber shop into its player lounge. There's a 40-yard digital-sensor electronic track on the mezzanine level, one of the few in the world."
What's perhaps even more exciting for Oregon football players, coaches and fans alike?
The Ducks aren't even close to finished.

In October 2021 the university unveiled plans for a new 170,000-square-foot indoor practice facility that will raise the bar even further.
The new indoor practice facility is scheduled to be completed by 2024 and will feature a 40,000-square-foot connector to the already impressive Moshofsky Center, which was built in 1998. The connector will include an updated lounge area for student athletes and an expanded weight room.
Access to the facility won't be exclusive to the football team, as other student athletes are also expected to enjoy Oregon's next-level training facilities.
Innovation in both facilities and college uniforms are just some of the ways the University of Oregon has pushed the envelope in college athletics and Oregon alumnus and Nike co-founder Phil Knight has played a central role in making sure the Ducks at the forefront of college athletics.
Dan Lanning and the Ducks signed the top recruiting class in the Pac-12 for the fifth straight cycle earlier this month and boasting the nation's top facilities will only aid in their pursuit of elite talent moving forward.
