Bo Nix and Troy Franklin Projected in First Round of Daniel Jeremiah's 2024 NFL Mock Draft
The 2024 NFL Draft is slated for April 25 in Detroit and college football players across the country will see their NFL dreams come true.
Former scout and NFL Media Analyst Daniel Jeremiah recently released his first mock draft and a projects a pair of Oregon players to hear their name called on day one.
Oregon quarterback Bo Nix and wide receiver Troy Franklin were a dynamic duo during the 2023 season and lit up opposing defenses on a weekly basis as part of one of the best offenses in college football.
Bo Nix (No. 14 New Orleans Saints)
Jeremiah has Nix slotted to come off the board at No. 14 to the New Orleans Saints. Here's what he had to say about the projection:
"I’m a big fan of Nix’s game. I think his experience as a five-year starter is a positive for him as he heads to the next level. He would be a plug-and-play starter in New Orleans. I’m not confident the Saints view Derek Carr as the answer."
The Saints are coming off a 9-8 season and their first under quarterback Derek Carr. Carr had decent weapons to throw to in running back Alvin Kamara, wide receiver Chris Olave and tight end Taysom Hill, but it was a rocky year. The Saints had one of the better offensive lines in the NFL this season and allowed only 32 sacks during the regular season, which ranked No. 3 behind only the 49ers and the Rams.
There are worse landing spots for Nix.
WR Troy Franklin (No. 32 Baltimore Ravens)
Here's what Jeremiah had to say about his Franklin pick.
"Franklin is ultra explosive. He would be another weapon for Lamar Jackson, further strengthening an underrated receiver room."
You have to love this pick if you're an Oregon fan. Pairing Franklin with one of the best young quarterbacks in the league? Sign me up.
The Ravens haven't been known for having star receivers in recent years, and Franklin could join a potent offense that also features Mark Andrews and Zay Flowers. I like this pick a lot.
