Darren Uscher Expected to Return to Oregon in Personnel and Recruiting Role
Duck fans get should get ready to welcome Darren Uscher back to Eugene.
The UCLA general manager arrived in Westwood this offseason after spending the 2023 season in the Northwest, but will now return to Oregon in a personnel and recruiting role, according to a report from 247Sports' Matt Zenitz.
Uscher was introduced as UCLA's Executive Director of Recruiting on January 23. That was when Chip Kelly was still at the helm in Westwood, but the former Oregon head coach has now joined Ryan Day's staff as the offensive coordinator at Ohio State.
DeShaun Foster has been named the new head coach of the Bruins, and as a result, there's been plenty of movement within the coaching and recruiting departments. It looks like you can add Uscher to the mix, as he's slated to return to Eugene after spending the 2023 season at Oregon.
During his time in Eugene he worked as a player personnel and scouting consultant and Duck fans are well aware of how important the season was, as Oregon went 12-2 and the 2024 recruiting class now stands alone as the best the program has ever seen (#3 per 247Sports rankings).
Prior to working with the Ducks, Uscher, served as the Director of Recruiting in the SEC ranks at Auburn and the Director of Football Recruiting and Player Personnel at Boise State. His prior work experience also includes time at Georgetown, South Carolina, the Washington Commanders and D.C. United of the Major League Soccer ranks.
Talent acquisition is one of the most important parts of today's college football and Dan Lanning gets another piece to join his staff in Eugene alongside Chief of Staff Marshall Malchow.
