Early Betting Odds for No. 13 Oregon Ducks vs. Texas Tech Red Raiders

Dan Lanning and the Ducks hit the road and will face Texas Tech in 100 degree temperatures on Saturday in Lubbock.

Fans got their first look at the 2023 Oregon Ducks football team on Saturday when they blew the doors off of the Portland State Vikings in an 81-7 victory at home in Eugene.

Next up for Dan Lanning and the Ducks is a road trip to the Lone Star State in week 2, where they'll face former Oregon quarterback Tyler Shough and the Texas Tech Red Raiders. The Red Raiders didn't get off the start they wanted this season, as they dropped their opening game 35-33 in double overtime to the Wyoming Cowboys of the Mountain West conference.

Oregon isn't taking this game lightly, as Texas Tech boasts not only an experienced starting quarterback in the aforementioned Shough, but big play-making wide receivers and plenty of veteran experience throughout their defense.

Saturday's matchup will be the first time these two teams have played, and it appears that Oregon is the early betting favorite despite facing a hostile road environment.

SI SportsBook Odds

Spread: Oregon -6.5 (-120) | Texas Tech +6.5 (-105)

Money Line: Oregon Ducks (-275) | Texas Tech (+200)

Point Total: 66.5 | Over (-111) | Under (-111)

Oregon appears to be one of the Pac-12's best teams in 2023, and they're in the conversion to compete against the USC Trojans, the Washington Huskies and the Utah Utes in pursuit of a conference title in 2023.

The Ducks won 10 games in Dan Lanning's first season at the helm and are more than capable of improving on that mark with a Heisman-contending quarterback in Bo Nix and a defense primed to take a leap in year two with the additions of big-time players from the transfer portal.
