Former Oregon Ducks linebacker Harrison Taggart has committed to transfer to the BYU Cougars.

He announced his decision on Saturday.

Taggart, a 6-foot-1, 216-pound linebacker, played in three games with the Ducks during the 2022 season. He played nine total snaps on defense and one snap on special teams while utilizing a redshirt.

He signed with Oregon as a member of the 2022 class as a 4-star (0.8943) recruit according to the 247Sports Composite from Draper (Ut.) Corner Canyon High School. Taggart was ranked the No. 377 player nationally, the No. 36 linebacker and the No. 6 player in Utah.

The Utah native is the second former Oregon player to transfer to BYU in the last two seasons, joining former five-star offensive tackle Kingsley Suamataia

Taggart was one of Oregon five true freshmen to enter the transfer portal this offseason along with Sir Mells (Utah State), Jalil Tucker (San Diego State) and Anthony Jones (Indiana).

The Ducks have bolstered their inside linebacker room this offseason by adding players like Jestin Jacobs (Iowa), Connor Soelle (Arizona State) and 2023 signee Jerry Mixon.
