Oregon Ducks offensive lineman Iapani Laloulu has been named a midseason true freshman All-American by 247Sports, it was announced on Wednesday.

Laloulu signed with Oregon as a four-star (0.8989 according to 247Sports Composite) recruit in the 2023 class. He attended Farrington High School in Honolulu and followed in the footsteps of his older brother Faoope, who signed with the Ducks in 2020.

Here's what 247's Chris Hummer had to say about the true freshman standout.

"The brother of Oregon offensive lineman Faaope Laloulu, Iapani has forced his way onto the field with more of a frequency than his other brother. A swing presence on the interior, Iapani has played 147 snaps this year between right guard, center while also seeing a few snaps in Oregon’s jumbo package. He’s been great in every role. He hasn’t allowed a pressure and helps pace the nation’s best rushing attack. Laloulu has played 20-plus snaps in every game."

Head coach Dan Lanning spoke about the younger of the two Laloulu brothers earlier this week when he was asked why he felt confident in sending Iapani out to play center when starter Jackson Powers-Johnson got banged up against Washington.

"Consistency and physicality," he said."Picking up a system and being able to execute it at a high level. He's a guy that's really rotated and played within every game this season. And it's because he's earned it.

"In that situation he's a guy that again, has done a good job for us throughout the year, so it wasn't really even an opportunity to second guess putting him in 'cause he's prepared for it."

On an Oregon offensive line that's loaded with veterans like Steven Jones and Marcus Harper II, as well as talented transfers who joined the program in 2023, Laloulu continues to make a name for himself and prove that he's ready for anything that will be thrown his way in his debut college season.
