Joel Klatt 'Wouldn't be shocked at all' if Oregon Wins the National Championship

One of the most well-respected voices in college football is buying the Oregon stock amid a crucial stretch in November.

Oregon Football held steady at No. 6 in Tuesday's College Football Playoff rankings. But anyone in Eugene can tell you that Dan Lanning and the Ducks have higher aspirations and want to be one of the four teams to make this year's playoff.

In a recent episode of the Joel Klatt Show, the Fox Sports football analyst didn't shy away from expressing his confidence in what Oregon is capable of, even going as far as saying "I wouldn't be shocked at all if Oregon wins the national championship."

"I don't think that that's crazy to state that. That's why I've moved them ahead of Florida State in my top 10."

Klatt has Oregon at No. 5 in his top 10, trailing only Washington (4), Ohio State (3), Georgia (2) and Michigan (1).

Oregon has never been a team to get caught up in reading their own press clippings, and they certainly can't afford to do that now.

Last week's 63-19 win over Cal was the first of a crucial four-game stretch for the Ducks in November--which always proves to be the most important and difficult month in college football.

Dan Lanning's squad is in control of their own destiny to return to the playoff for the first time since the 2014-2015 season, and that starts with making the Pac-12 title game.

In order to do that, Oregon needs win their final three games against USC, Arizona State and Oregon State to close out the regular season. If they can do that, they'll punch their ticket to Las Vegas for a rematch with the Washington Huskies, their only loss of the year.

With the most experienced quarterback in college football history and a deep, physical defense, the Ducks have proven they can compete with any team in the country.
