Oregon Ducks Safety Bryan Addison Away From Team According to Dan Lanning
Oregon is without one of its top defensive backs and will continue to be for an unspecified amount of time.
On Monday evening head coach Dan Lanning addressed the absence of senior defensive back Bryan Addison.
"BA right now, he's taking a break for himself for personal reasons. I won't discuss that beyond that," the head coach told reporters.
Addison is in his sixth season with the Ducks and hasn't played in the team's last two games against the Stanford Cardinals and the Washington Huskies.
He solidified himself as one of the most productive players in Oregon's secondary last season, and the 6-foot-5, 198-pound defensive back has recorded 11 total tackles and 1 interception through four games in 2023.
In his absence Oregon has turned to veterans Steve Stephens IV and Tysheem Johnson to fill the void in the secondary alongside defensive back Evan Williams.
Fortunately for the Ducks they have quality depth throughout the secondary thanks to their efforts in the transfer portal, but Addison is a player that will be missed due to the playmaking ability that he's flashed since making the transition from wide receiver to defensive back during the shortened 2020 season.
Due to Lanning's short comments it's difficult to say for sure whether or not Addison will be available this weekend against Washington State, but it certainly isn't looking likely.
