Oregon Ducks redshirt freshman linebacker Harrison Taggart has entered the transfer portal, he announced on Wednesday.

"Thank you Oregon Football! I appreciate all of the relationships I have built along the way," he wrote in a social media post. "Thank you to all of the coaches and trainers who have helped me with my journey in Oregon. With that being said I will be entering my name into the transfer portal with four years of eligibility remaining."

The linebacker is the second Oregon player to enter the transfer portal on Wednesday, joining fellow 2022 signee, outside linebacker Anthony Jones. During his lone year with the Ducks he appeared in three games, playing nine total snaps on defense and one on special teams.

Taggart signed with Oregon as a four-star (0.8943 by 247Sports Composite) recruit in the 2022 class out of Draper (UT) Corner Canyon High School. He chose the Ducks over offers from Utah, USC, Louisville, and Nebraska among others.

His departure makes the inside linebacker room, which was already lacking quality depth following the departure of Keith Brown, that much thinner.

Oregon signed one true linebacker from the high school ranks in the 2023 recruiting class in Jerry Mixon. He's already on campus as an early enrollee going through spring practice.

The coaching staff added two inside linebackers from the transfer portal in Jestin Jacobs from Iowa and Connor Soelle from Arizona State. With Taggart's departure, the Ducks have six scholarship players at inside linebacker-- the three aforementioned players, as well as Jeffrey BassaJamal Hill and Devon Jackson.
