Oregon Ducks outside linebacker Anthony Jones intends to enter the transfer portal, according to a Wednesday morning report from Matt Zenitz of On3 Sports.

Jones signed with Oregon in the 2022 class as a three-star (0.8770 per 247Sports Composite) recruit from Henderson (Nev.) Liberty High School.

He flipped to the Ducks from the Texas Longhorns during the early signing period. He was also committed to the Washington Huskies at one point of his recruiting process.

The 6-foot-3, 243-pound edge rusher was set to compete for a larger role in 2023 with the departures of players like DJ Johnson in the outside linebacker room. He's the fourth Oregon player to enter the transfer portal during the spring window, joining linebacker Keith Brown, defensive lineman Treven Ma'ae and cornerback Jalil Tucker.

Dan Lanning and the Ducks signed four edge rushers from the high school ranks in the 2023 recruiting class and brought in highly-touted South Carolina transfer Jordan Burch at the position. Burch and Mase Funa are expected to lead the group this season while Tosh Lupoi shifts around other players to build out the depth chart.

Overall, Oregon's defensive line is poised to be the deepest its been in years with so much talent returning including Brandon Dorlus, Popo Aumavae and Casey Rogers among other players.

In the span of one offseason, the Ducks had massive roster churn, adding and losing nearly 60 players combined from the high school ranks (additions) and transfer portal (subtractions).
