Oregon Wide Receiver Tez Johnson Undecided on 2024 NFL Draft Decision
The No. 8 Oregon Ducks are just two days away from facing the No. 23 Liberty Flames in the Fiesta Bowl.
We've been hearing from Oregon players and coaches throughout the week as they discuss the game and the future of the Ducks program, specifically looking into 2024.
One of Oregon's top wide receivers, Tez Johnson, has had a terrific season catching 75 passes for 1,010 yards and 10 touchdowns.
Whether or not he'll be back with the Ducks next season, remains up in the air.
"Right now, I'm just focused on this bowl game," Johnson said when asked if he's made his pro decision in Glendale. "That's pretty much in -- that's all that's on my mind right now."
The Ducks already lost arguably the best wide receiver in program history for 2024, as junior Troy Franklin declared for the NFL Draft after seeing records for receiving yards in a season (1,383) and receiving touchdowns in a single season (14).
Johnson was a perfect compliment to Franklin for Will Stein in Oregon's offense this season, as both receivers passed the 1,000 yard mark and were explosive options in the passing attack. Johnson proved that he belonged playing big-time football, transferring in after spending the last three seasons at Troy in the Sun Belt Conference.
Looking ahead to the 2024 season, Junior Adams and the Ducks project to have a wide receiver room that could return Traeshon Holden, Gary Bryant Jr., Jurrion Dickey and Kyler Kasper. Oregon signed four talented wide receivers from the high school level after flipping Ryan Pellum (USC) and Jeremiah McClellan (Ohio State) on National Signing Day to join Jack Ressler and Dillon Gresham, the latter of the two has already enrolled and is practicing with the Ducks for the Fiesta Bowl.
