Oregon's Bo Nix, Tysheem Johnson Named Pac-12 Players of the Week

A pair of Ducks turned in the strongest performances in the conference this past week.
In this story:

Oregon Ducks quarterback Bo Nix has been named the Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week, the conference announced on Monday.

The senior quarterback completed 24-of-31 passes for 248 passing yards and a pair of passing touchdowns in Oregon's 35-6 win over the No. 13 Utah Utes. He also added eight rushing yards on four carries for a rushing touchdown.

Monday's Pac-12 Player of the Week recognition marked the fifth time Nix has taken home the honor since joining the Ducks, tying quarterback Marcus Mariota for the most by any Oregon player. Nix has accounted for 24 total touchdowns and has completed 78.8% of his passes on the year, placing him in the thick of the Heisman Trophy conversation

Joining Nix in the headlines is junior defensive back Tysheem Johnson, who was named the Pac-12 Defensive Player of the week.

The 5-foot-10, 195-pound defender recorded two interceptions in Oregon's 35-6 road win over the Utah Utes to help the Ducks move to 7-1 on the year. He also recorded two total tackles on Saturday.

Johnson is first defensive player from Oregon to be recognized as player of the week. With his big day in Salt Lake City, he became the first Duck with multiple interceptions in the same game since defensive back Bennett Williams in 2022, a 20-17 over the Utes in Eugene.

Next up for Nix, Johnson and the Ducks is a home matchup against the California Bears on Saturday.

They enter that matchup as the heavy betting favorite and will need another strong game to prepare them for a showdown with Lincoln Riley, Caleb Williams and the USC Trojans in week 11.
