4-Star Edge Rusher Zina Umeozulu Places Oregon in Top Schools
The Ducks enter the month of June with a lot on the line as they're set to host some of their top targets for official visits this month.
But the news isn't all about official visits. The coaching staff has also solidified their standing with top targets. On Wednesday 2024 Allen (Tex.) EDGE Zina Umeozulu placed Oregon in his top schools.
The other schools to make the top nine included the likes of Georgia, LSU, Texas and Oklahoma.
Umeozulu took an unofficial visit to Eugene last month as the Ducks continue attacking the state of Texas in the 2024 recruiting cycle.
Umeozulu is listed at 6'4", 210 pounds and is rated a four-star (0.9381) recruit by the 247Sports Composite. The same system ranks him the No. 141 player nationally, the No. 11 edge rusher and the No. 25 player in the state of Texas.
Oregon has a pair of Texas recruits in the fold in the 2024 class in Forney safety Aaron Flowers as well as Melissa tight end Jackson Ford, who will both be back in Eugene this month for official visits. Other top targets out of the Lone Star State this cycle include Conroe (Tex.) linebacker Justin Williams, his teammate, defensive lineman Joseph Jonah-Ajonye, and Duncanville edge rusher Colin Simmons among others.
The Ducks have one player at Umeozulu's edge position committed in the 2024 class in Yuma (Ariz.) Yuma Catholic standout Jaxson Jones and are also pushing for players like Elijah Rushing, who will take his official visit to Oregon this weekend, as well as Birmingham (Ala.) Vestavia Hills edge Jordan Ross.
