Oregon is bringing in an impressive group of recruits this weekend when they play Colorado and one of the biggest names isn't even a senior in high school.

2025 Pittsburg (Calif.) safety Jadyn Hudson will return to Eugene this weekend and spoke with Ducks Digest about the latest in his recruitment and previewed the trip.

When it came to scheduling this trip, it was an opportunity for him to experience something he hasn't gotten on previous Oregon visits.

"Just because I haven't been to a game yet," Hudson said of why he wanted to visit Oregon. "So I just want to know what that feeling is like, possibly going there and playing there. Getting the full experience, experience and the atmosphere, the crowd."

The Adidas All-American is looking forward to watching the game play out between the Ducks and the Buffs, among other things.

"I would say just getting out there and seeing them. First off, it's gonna be a good game between them and Colorado. I'm looking forward to most, just seeing how Oregon is on a gameday."

When it comes to being recruited by the Ducks, he's most excited about the direction the program is heading.

"I would say what Coach (Dan) Lanning, Coach (Tosh) Lupoi and Coach Hamp (Chris Hampton) are doing. Especially with the defense. Oregon has been playing very well for some years too. Well, since I've been little."

Hudson is plenty family with the Ducks, but not just because of previous trips to Eugene. He has a family connection that some fans may recognize.

"My cousin Erick Dargan, he went there too. He played safety there. Just what they're doing, it really got me pumped up."

The Oregon staff has taken a team approach to their recruitment of Hudson, with names like Koa Ka'ai (wide receivers), Dan Lanning, Tosh Lupoi and Chris Hampton all building a connection with the Bay Area product.

TORRES' TAKE: The Latest in Oregon Football Recruiting

He offered more on the relationship he's built with Chris Hampton, who would be his position coach at Oregon.

"It's good. We call and he checks up on me to see how I'm doing," Hudson said. "He's always trying to get me to come up there because it's always good to come see them."

Aside from the Ducks, some of the most storied programs in college football have kept in consistent contact.

"USC, Tennessee, Oregon, Ohio State, Penn State and Washington," he said.

Following his trip to Eugene this weekend, he has a couple of other visits in mind.

"Right now I'm getting the details for the USC-Utah game (Oct. 21 @USC). I'm supposed to be going up to Ohio State, but they don't have the times for the game yet."

Hudson doesn't have a clear-cut decision timeline, but he's working from a top 10 and shed some light on what he's prioritizing in his recruitment.

"I would say the development, the longevity of the coaches being there and then how well I would be produced."
