Dan Lanning and the Ducks have landed a new commitment.

On Friday, Ole Miss transfer tight end Casey Kelly announced his commitment to Oregon.

Kelly is a 6-foot-3, 255-pound redshirt senior tight end from Niagara Falls (NY) Mallard Creek High School. During his four years in Oxford he played in 35 games and caught 28 passes for 282 yards and three touchdowns.

In 2022 he caught three passes in 11 games for 17 yards and a touchdown. In high school he played quarterback and threw for 2,155 yards and 20 touchdowns as a senior.

Kelly is the younger brother of former Ole Miss and Clemson quarterback Chad Kelly, who attended East Mississippi Community College in 2014, prominently known for the Netflix series "Last Chance U".

Kelly projects to fill a big void on Oregon's 2023 roster following the transfers of Moliki Matavao and Cam McCormick this offseason. Terrance Ferguson, Oregon's leading tight end, was injured in spring practice and should recover in time for fall camp.

His injury leaves Patrick Herbert and early enrolle true freshman Kenyon Sadiq as the team's only scholarship tight ends.

Kelly's commitment continues a strong start to a big recruiting weekend for Oregon, after the Ducks landed 2024 three-star quarterback Luke Moga on Friday.
