Oregon is pursuing a small group of talented ballcarriers in the 2024 recruiting class. With Phoenix (Ariz.) Mountain Pointe running back Christian Clark announcing his commitment to Texas last week, the Ducks hosted Washington, D.C. St. John's running back Da'Jaun Riggs for his official visit.

He spoke about the impression Oregon left after making it out to Eugene this past weekend.

"After being down there, bringing my parents down there, seeing everything--it most definitely jumped up," he said about the Ducks. "It was amazing for me and my parents. Just being down there and the atmosphere of being in Oregon. It was a great place to be at and I most definitely would love to go back there."

What were some of the highlights from his official visit?

"Coach Dan Lanning's house. With Coach Lock (Carlos Locklyn) and Coach (Will) Stein the offensive coordinator, sitting down, talking and eating."

Oregon's seen a lot of talented running backs come through Eugene over the years, but the coaching staff's vision for him could include more than being a traditional back.

"Their vision for me is I'm very versatile. I can play more than just running back," Riggs told Ducks Digest. "They see me getting over there and being a major impact on the offensive end. Being able to catch, run and maybe sometimes throw."

The 6-foot, 200-pound bruiser made the cross country trip with his parents. While his mother wasn't wild about the long commute, Oregon was quick to grow on her.

"Going down there the flight was really long, like six hours. My Mom kept complaining but when we got down there she had a ball. They both did," he said. "They bought a lot of gear. It was good seeing them when we went down there they were happy. Happy to be there. It was a good scene."

The Ducks are battling two other schools are Riggs works toward a decision. He spoke about recent trips to Pitt and Minnesota.

On Pitt

"Coach (Andre) Powell, (we) went down there, had a good time. Talked to the head coach as well. We talked about school, sports, life and being able to see the Steelers practice firsthand was also good. Had the chance to watch Najee Harris practice. The Pittsburgh town was amazing as well."

On Minnesota

"Minnesota, Coach Nic (McKissic-Luke), he's from my area. Me and him had a good connection when I went down there. Coach (PJ) Fleck was very energetic. You ask him how his day was and the first thing he says is 'elite'. He's always having a great day. The Link at Minnesota was good. Facility was great. Football team was fantastic."

Riggs plans to make his college commitment next week on Monday July 3 and is confident that he's got a good feel for his options.

"Everything has already been presented to me," he said. "I saw everything that I needed to see. Now it's time for me and my family to make that right decision."
