Ryan Pellum Announces College Commitment
2024 Long Beach (Calif.) Millikan wide receiver Ryan Pellum has committed to the USC Trojans.
He announced his decision during a commitment ceremony at Millikan on Monday afternoon.
Pellum committed to USC over Oregon after narrowing his recruitment to the Trojans and the Ducks leading up to his decision.
The 5-foot-11, 170-pound wide receiver took an official visit to USC on June 16 and was scheduled to make his official visit to Oregon this past weekend. However, there were rumors that he didn't make it out to Eugene for that trip and the Trojans had a majority of the momentum in his recruitment.
I logged my prediction for USC on June 20.
Pellum is rated a four-star (0.9628) recruit by the 247Sports Composite. The same system ranks him the No. 69 player nationally, the No. 14 wide receiver and the No. 7 player in California.
With his commitment, Lincoln Riley and the Trojans now have 13 verbal commitments in the 2024 class. Pellum is the second wide receiver, joining Chatsworth (Calif.) Sierra Canyon standout Xavier Jordan.
USC's class now ranks No. 8 nationally, just one spot behind Oregon. 2024 Chatsworth (Calif.) Sierra Canyon safety Marquis Gallegos is set to announce his commitment on Tuesday and will choose from Michigan, Oklahoma, Oregon, USC and Notre Dame.
As Pellum heads to USC for his college football, most of Oregon's attention now turns to 2024 St. Louis (Mo.) wide receiver Jeremiah McClellan, who was in Eugene for his official visit over the weekend.
