As if Oregon's collection of talented recruits expected in town for the spring game couldn't get more impressive--it just did.

2024 Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy defensive lineman David Stone Jr. announced that he will be in Eugene for Oregon's spring game on April 29.

Stone is rated a five-star (0.9963) recruit on the 247Sports Composite. The same system ranks him the No. 8 player nationally, the No. 2 defensive lineman and the No. 3 recruit in Florida.

The 6-foot-4, 270-pound defensive lineman has taken recent visits to Michigan State, Oklahoma, Miami and Texas A&M over the past two months. He's currently working from a top 10 that includes Oregon as well as Florida, LSU and USC among others.

The Ducks are also expected to host star-studded defensive linemen and edge rushers including Colin Simmons (Duncanville, TX), Dylan Stewart (Washington, D.C.) and Jordan Ross (Birmingham, AL) among others this weekend.

Oregon has two commitments along the front seven in the 2024 class. Yuma (Ariz.) Yuma Catholic edge rusher Jaxson Jones committed in January after previously being committed to Washington. Saint Louis (MO) Hazelwood Central defensive lineman Tionne Gray flipped from Missouri to Oregon on April 13.

The Ducks don't have a very successful history of recruiting IMG players--aside from Josh Delgado in 2019--as most end up in the SEC or Clemson, but maybe that could change with heavy hitters Dan Lanning and Tosh Lupoi leading the way on the recruiting trail.
