Four Teams Standing out for Jeremiah McClellan

The St. Louis wide receiver looks to be closing in on a decision with one official visit left.
In this story:

Oregon has four wide receivers committed in the 2024 class and one big name that's still on their board is St. Louis (Mo.) Christian Brothers College Prep wide receiver Jeremiah McClellan

The 6-foot, 190-pound pass catcher has one more official visit on his schedule and could take another unofficial visit.

"I'm going to Oregon next weekend for my OV," he told Ducks Digest at the OT7 championship in Huntington Beach. "Then I probably want to go to Mizzou again just to see how it is. I'm really trying to start narrowing it down right now. So that's pretty much it."

McClellan released a top 12 in April but now a small group of schools are recruiting him hardest.

"Ohio State, LSU, Oregon and Mizzou. Those are the schools that are really heavy on me and I'm heavy on them."

He started his official visit slate in Baton Rouge at LSU and spoke about the Tigers.

"I loved LSU. Love the coaching staff at LSU. Hank (Cortez Hankton) is a really good guy," McClellan said. "Talked to his family for a long time. His family's good. Him, as far as football-wise, he wanted me to come in and work."

Ohio State is another major contender in his recruitment and the Buckeyes had their shot during an OV earlier this month.

"Same thing with Hart (Brian Hartline). I loved it at Ohio State. I talked to Marv (Marvin Harrison Jr.), Mec (Emeka Egbuka) , Brandon (Inniss) , Carnell (Tate). Just talking to those guys, telling me that if I come here, nothing's guaranteed so you're gonna have to work for everything you have. So that's what I think is really standing out."

The St. Louis wide receiver will head to Eugene for his official visit on June 23 and the Ducks are a top option.

"I love (Junior) Adams he's a great guy. Talk to him all the time. Him, Coby (Sayyah), Coach Lanning, I talk them every day. Just talking to them, building that relationship with them is really good.

"Adams coached Cooper Kupp. Cooper Kupp still comes back and trains with him even when he has the triple crown. He came back and trained with him and went to go win the triple crown. I think that speaks volumes to me."

The Ducks don't seem to be the leader right now, which makes this visit that much more important as they hope to close.

"It's a big thing for Oregon. Just seeing how they're gonna treat me. I just want to see how they're gonna treat me at the visit."

McClellan will take the trip with his brothers and both parents, and the uniqueness in Eugene is part of what's standing out.

"What stands out about them is they're unique. They're in Eugene so that's different. I don't know it just stands out to me. It's Eugene. Coach Adams he's a great guy. Him right there and just all of them being down there. All of them just stay hounding me, hounding my family. That stands out to me. That shows that they want me."

Heading into his decision, the No. 4 recruit in Missouri is holding one factor above all others.

"Going to the league. That's my biggest thing," McClellan said. "I'm not really worried about anything else. I just want to go to whatever place can get me to the league cause that's my main goal."

When might a decision come?

"I have no clue. I'm still waiting on my Mom to pick a date or something like that. So whenever she picks a date that's when I'll commit."
