Oregon flexes its recruiting muscles to land another commitment from SEC country.

Oregon has started the month of July with a bang and it's not even the Fourth of July yet. Dan Lanning and company just added a massive body in the trenches.

2024 Pinson (Ala.) Clay-Chalkville offensive tackle JacQawn McRoy has committed to Dan Lanning and the Ducks. He announced his decision on the 247Sports YouTube channel.

McRoy chose Oregon from a top four that also included Ole Miss, Arkansas and Kentucky.

He's the fourth offensive line commitment for A'lique Terry in this recruiting cycle, as he'll line up alongside players like Fox Crader (WA), Trent Fergsuon (OR) and Devin Brooks (OR).

The newest Duck measures in at 6'8", 365 pounds and is rated a four-star (0.9316) recruit by the 247Spots Composite. The same system ranks him the No. 172 player nationally, the No. 12 offensive tackle and the No. 11 recruit in Alabama.

McRoy took his official visit to Oregon the weekend leading up to this decision and that trip only strengthened Oregon's standing.

"It was amazing. I liked it," McRoy said after his first to Eugene in May."I liked the young coaching staff, real new school. The gear just speaks for itself. The gear's amazing. That's just a plus. It's just a good school. Good school, good people there."

With the towering offensive lineman in the fold, Oregon's 2024 class now sits at 17 verbal commitments.

A'lique Terry, Mike Cavanaugh and the rest of the offensive line staff are also recruiting players like Brandon Baker and Preston Taumua this cycle, and both have the Ducks among their top schools.
