Kamar Mothudi, Four-Star Linebacker Commits to Oregon Ducks
Dan Lanning is bringing another elite linebacker to Eugene.
2024 Los Alamitos (Calif.) linebacker Kamar Mothudi has committed to Oregon. He announced his decision on the 247Sports YouTube channel.
He chose the Ducks from a top five that also included Washington, Utah, Texas and Michigan State. I logged my prediction for Oregon to land Mothudi on March 22.
Mothudi is Oregon's second linebacker commit in the 2024 class and will help new inside linebackers Brian Michalowski build depth at a priority position of need this cycle. He joins Long Beach (Calif.) Poly linebacker Dylan Williams in Oregon's linebacker haul this cycle.
The newest Duck was originally offered by the coaching staff in January and is rated a four-star (0.9204) recruit by the 247Sports Composite. The same system ranks him the No. 206 player nationally, the No. 18 linebacker and the No. 19 recruit in California.
As a junior in 2022, Mothudi led the Gold Coast League in both tackles (104) and rushing yards (1,345). He also logged 4 sacks, 2 interceptions, 11 tackles for loss and 18 rushing touchdowns. Stats like that helped him earned Adidas All-American status ahead of his senior year of high school.
Prior to choosing the Ducks Mothudi took official visits to Utah, Washington, Michigan State and Oregon. Texas was the only school from his top five that didn't receive an official visit.
With Mothudi now in the fold, Oregon's 2024 class sits at 20 verbal commitments, which ranks No. 8 nationally according to 247Sports.
Dan Lanning and the Ducks continue to increase their presence in Southern California after landing verbal commitments from Jordan Anderson, Dillon Gresham and Jacker Ressler this cycle.
Oregon is still pursuing multiple high-end linebackers in the 2024 class including Justin Williams and Brayden Platt, who have all taken official visits with the Ducks this month.
