Oregon is still looking for their first defensive commitment in the 2025 recruiting class and they'll bring in one of the top corners out West for a visit in the near future.

Corona (Calif.) Centennial cornerback LaRue Zamorano is set to take a trip to Eugene on February 3 for one of Oregon's two Junior Days and spoke with Ducks Digest about the latest in his recruitment.

"I want to take this trip to Oregon because Oregon has always been a dream school of mine since I was young," he said. "I have a close relationship with the staff. The defensive coordinator just came to my school today to talk to me personally. They treat me like family, so I plan on taking a trip up there very soon."

Tosh Lupoi has been long been one of the best recruiters in the country and the 6-foot-2, 180-pound defensive back discussed his visit to his school.

"It was going good. He was telling me about how they're highly recruiting me right now because word got around that Coach Meat left and went to Michigan State. So he was like they're still heavily recruiting me. They would love for me to join their fam. Asking me how I was doing as a person, asking me how my family's doing. Just checking up on me."

Zamorano is focused on the big picture when it comes to what stands out about Oregon.

"The family. They're a family over there and I love that. I'm big on family. Everybody over there is genuine. That's what I'm big on about Oregon."

One of his closest relationships is with an Oregon coach that works with his position.

"I'm real close with Coach (Rashad) Wadood," Zamorano said. "My dad and him talk on the day to day basis. So I'm real close with Coach Wadood. Was very very close with Coach Meat and he's like an uncle to me. I was real close with him before he left."

He was in Eugene last year for the spring game and is focused on strengthening his relationships when he returns to the Northwest.

"I just plan on catching up with the coaches because it's been a minute since I've been there. I want to see what they have going on since Coach Meat left, where everybody stands at. Just feel the vibe out over there."

Aside from Oregon, there are a few trips the Southern California product is hoping to take.

"I would like to look at Washington," he said. "I would like to go to Penn State again. ASU is a school that I'm planning on making a trip down there soon."

Zamorano was recently offered by Boston College and spoke about his decision timeline.

"I was planning on dropping a top maybe 8, top 12, something of that sort after 7-on-7 season. I plan on cutting 'em down and I may commit if not before, at the end of my senior season."

As he starts to narrow down his options he's placing a premium on relationships.

"What's important to me is the relationship they have to have for me and also my family. Because this is a family decision. My family have to trust the program and the coaching staff with my life, it's like, I'm leaving my mother's nest and my mother's like giving me to them."
