The Ducks already have one quarterback committed and are poised to add another.

A major target for Dan Lanning and the Ducks is ready to come off the board.

2024 Baltimore (Md.) St. Frances Academy quarterback Michael Van Buren has moved up his commitment date. After previously setting a commitment date of July 8, he will now commit on Saturday May 20.

Van Buren is rated a four-star (0.9412) recruit by the 247Sports Composite. The same system ranks him the No. 129 player nationally, the No. 11 quarterback and the No. 3 recruit in Maryland.

He's working from a top three of Oregon, Penn State and Maryland. The Ducks made up a lot of ground in his recruitment during the month of April, hosting him on two separate occasions, including the annual spring game, along with more than 100 other recruits.

The Ducks already have one commitment in the state of Maryland this cycle, as Van Buren's St. Frances teammate, four-star cornerback Ify Obidegwu committed to the Ducks on May 7. Offensive coordinator Will Stein has landed a verbal commitment from one quarterback already in 2024, as Phoenix (Ariz.) Sunnyslope quarterback Luke Moga committed to the Ducks on April 28, just one day before the spring game.

Moga, along with other Oregon verbal commits, have been very vocal about recruiting Van Buren to join them in Eugene.

The Ducks are the clear frontrunners here and continue to prioritize the DMV (District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia) on the recruiting trial.

I logged my prediction for Van Buren to choose Oregon last week and suggested that his commitment date was flexible.
