Oregon Football has landed another massive commitment on the recruiting trail.

2024 Baltimore (Md.) St. Frances Academy quarterback Michael Van Buren has committed to the Ducks.

Van Buren chose Oregon from a final three that also included Penn State and Maryland.

The Baltimore passer was one of the top uncommitted quarterbacks in the 2024 class, trailing only Elijah Brown from Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei.

Oregon's newest commit is rated a four-star (0.9412) recruit by the 247Sports Composite. The same system ranks him the No. 129 player nationally, the No. 11 quarterback and the No. 3 recruit in Maryland.

As a junior in 2022 he threw for 1,707 yards and 18 touchdowns, completing 112 of 198 passes (56.6%). He also did a bit of damage with his legs, rushing for 125 yards on 10 carries for 2 touchdowns (according to 247Sports).

Van Buren is the second quarterback to commit to Will Stein in Oregon's 2024 class, joining Phoenix (Ariz.) Sunnyslope quarterback Luke Moga, who committed to the Ducks last month.

He's the second St. Frances player to join the fold in 2024, as Under Armour All-American cornerback Ify Obidegwu committed to Oregon earlier this month over schools like Alabama, Tennessee and USC.

Oregon's newest commit took two trips out to Eugene in April and that's when they were able to close the gap on Penn State and ultimately overtake the Nittany Lions in his recruitment.

With both Van Buren and Moga in the fold, the Ducks are on track to sign two quarterbacks in the same recruiting class for the first time since 2020, when they signed Jay Butterfield and Robby Ashford.

Van Buren's commitment is another example of Oregon flexing its national brand on the recruiting trail and serves as a strong endorsement of new offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Will Stein in his first full recruiting cycle since coming over from UTSA.
