Oregon a Top School for 4-Star Texas WR Aeryn Hampton
After a dominant recruiting run in Texas in 2023, Dan Lanning and the Ducks are looking for similar results in 2024.
On Wednesday Daingerfield (Tex.) High School wide receiver Aeryn Hampton placed Oregon in his top seven schools. He announced his latest recruiting cutdown on social media.
The other six schools to make the cut include Alabama, LSU, Oklahoma, Texas, Michigan and Nebraska.
Hampton checks in at 5'10", 175 pounds and is rated a four-star (0.9585) prospect by the 247Sports Composite. He's ranked the No. 77 player nationally, the No. 7 ATH and the No. 12 prospect in Texas.

Oregon offered Hampton back in December and that has kept them in the mix for one of the top players the state has to offer.
As a junior in 2022 he showcased his versatility every week, recording 44 catches for 1,029 yards on offense. On the other side of the ball he snagged nine interceptions, five of which he returned for touchdowns.
A stellar year helped him earn co-MVP honors in District 11-3A Division II.
On the recruiting trail Hampton announced a top ten back in December and has taken recent visits to Alabama and Oregon.
The Ducks signed six players from Texas in their 2023 recruiting class including Under Armour All-American wide receiver Ashton Cozart from Flour Mound (Tex.) Marcus High School, who is already enrolled and one campus. The Oregon staff has numerous strong ties to Texas including Marshall Malchow Tyler Dean and Will Stein.
Other top Oregon targets to follow closely in Texas include LB Justin Williams (Oak Ridge), CB Mario Buford (DeSoto), EDGE Colin Simmons (Duncanville), S Ka'Davion Dotson (Duncanville), DL Nigel Smith II (Melissa) and quarterback Will Hammond (Hutto).
