Oregon is pursuing some of the best defensive backs in the country for the 2025 recruiting class. One player they recently hosted was Pearland (Tex.) Shadow Creek cornerback Cobey Sellers

He placed the Ducks in his top six schools following that trip along with Texas, Texas A&M, LSU, Oklahoma, and Georgia. The 5-foot-11, 175-pound defensive back spoke with Ducks Digest about the latest in his recruitment.

There were many things that stood out to him during his time in Eugene and he highlighted a few of his favorite parts of the visit.

"Obviously the facilities and gear are top of the line," he said. "The town of Eugene was actually a cool vibe for college towns."

Khyree Jackson is poised to be the next corner that Oregon sends to the NFL and their defensive pedigree is part of what's standing out most.

"The system for cornerbacks, Christian Gonzalez was my favorite cornerback in college, and to be able to play in the same system that helped him go 1st (round), let's go!"

Sellers had the chance to spend ample time with one of Oregon's young risers on the coaching staff.

"Coach (Rashad) Wadood. We spent 1-on-1 time doing a Monday install for the DBs. That made me really comfortable with their system."

The Ducks have their fair share of competition for the Texas product, but his recent trip to Eugene certainly put them in a great spot.

"I put them on my top 6 list 'cause I can see myself playing in that system," he said. "Everything about Oregon is equal or on a higher level than most schools I've visited."

The No. 142 player on the 247Sports Composite sees himself making his college decision before too long.

"Probably after finishing OV'S in the summer, I will make a decision to be committed before the start of the season."

Sellers outlined what he's looking for in a school and the Ducks seem to check a lot of his boxes.

"I want a place where I can be built up as a man outside of football. Oregon gives me a chance to be successful outside of football with all of the opportunities they have available.

"The coaches were relatable for me as a player. Coach (Dan) Lanning is a young and upcoming coach who is a player's coach. I know I can play for a guy like him."
