Oregon Continues to Stand Out for WR Marcus Harris Following Visit
The Oregon Ducks are looking for the best playmakers in the country and one of them isn't too far away at Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei.
2025 Monarchs wide receiver Marcus Harris made it out to Eugene for the USC game and spoke about why he wanted to get back to Oregon for a visit.
"I've been talking to the coaches every day really," Harris said. "I feel the love and I feel like that could be a potential spot for me so, wanted to out there and see another game and their offense is real explosive."
Oregon's game against USC drew the fifth-largest crowd in Autzen Stadium history and it's no surprise the atmosphere generated by nearly 60,000 screaming fans was a highlight.
"Just the atmosphere. The atmosphere was amazing," he said. "Seeing guys that I played football when I was younger with like Bear Bachmeier (2025 Murrieta Valley QB), my (Mater Dei) teammates was out there. So I felt the love. Talking to the coaches after, next day talked to the coaches. I just felt the love all around."
Will Stein is up for the Broyles Award and his explosive offense has drawn national attention. It's part of what stands out the most about the Ducks for the 5-foot-11, 180-pound pass catcher.
"Just really their offense. Their offense has been explosive for a very long time. I feel like I can see myself in that offense, slot, wideout, whatever."
Harris is working from a top 12 that includes Oregon in addition to the likes of Texas, Georgia, Washington among others. So which schools is he connecting with right now?
"There's a lot honestly. I dropped my top 12, so all those schools in my top 12 have been sending me love still so those are schools I'm really connecting with."
Harris doesn't sound close to a decision, but it's clear Oregon has made a strong decision.
"Probably after I take my OVs, but I really don't have a time when I will (commit)," he said. "But when I feel the time is right I'll make the decision."
Following his trip to Eugene, Harris says he's focused on taking care of business on the field. He'll face the No. 3 St. John Bosco Braves for the CIF Division 1 Southern Section title Friday night.
"As of right now, just got the big dub right now. (We) play in the Coliseum next week, so right now really just focused on that and we play Bosco so I really want to get our revenge."
The Southern California star is looking for a school that builds a strong relationship and will help him get to the next level
"Really just, I wanna feel the love like always," Harris said. "I want to be coached and developed by the best coaches in the nation. I want to go somewhere I can really fit in and get to play D1 football."
