The 2024 Oregon Football recruiting class already has the makings of a special group, but many of the biggest names on the big board remain uncommitted as we approach the halfway mark in June.

The Ducks are hosting high-profile targets from across the country and their looking for another cornerback to pair with 2024 commit Ify Obidegwu.

There isn't a bigger name Oregon is recruiting at cornerback in the 2024 class than Waco (Tex.) Connally cornerback Kobe Black, who arrived in Eugene on Tuesday to begin an unofficial visit with the Ducks.

Black stands at 6'0", 190 pounds and has earned Under Armour All-American distinction ahead of his senior season. He's rated a five-star (0.9878) recruit by the 247Sports Composite. The same system ranks him the No. 23 player nationally, the No. 3 cornerback and the No. 5 recruit in Texas.

He has a who's who of college football pursuing his signature and took an official visit to Oklahoma over the weekend. Aside from the Sooners he also took trips to LSU, Texas A&M and Ohio STate this spring.

Black has 30 offers but trimmed his list of schools to 11 on April 6. That list included Oregon and they'll need to make a strong impression during this week's visit to solidify themselves as contenders in his recruitment.

Demetrice Martin already landed a commitment from All-American Ify Obidegwu in May and is pursuing names like Aaron Scott Jr., Bryce West and Chris Johnson II in the 2024 class.

Scott took his official visit over the weekend, West placed Oregon in his recent top schools and Johnson took an unofficial visit last week. Johnson will be back on campus later this month for his official visit and cornerback recruiting is looking more promising after the Ducks saw top target Dakoda Fields pledge to USC earlier in the month.

Cornerback play hasn't been at the level it's needed to be outside of Christian Gonzalez, and Black would certainly help Oregon get closer to the standard Dan Lanning has set for his team.

They aren't a main team to watch for Black, but that could definitely change after this trip.
