Oregon Offers Louisiana Lafayette Cornerback Trey Amos
Oregon has extended another offer to a player in the transfer portal.
On Monday, the Ducks offered former Louisiana Lafayette cornerback Trey Amos. The redshirt junior entered the transfer portal earlier in the day on Monday.
Amos is 6'1", 197 pounds and is originally from New Iberia, Louisiana. He played his high school football at Catholic-New Iberia High School.
The former Ragin Cajuns defensive back spent three seasons at UL Lafayette and played in 34 games. He recorded 59 total tackles, 46 solo tackles, 14 pass deflections and one interceptions.
During the offseason the Ducks hired offensive analyst Antonio Parks to their coaching staff, who is originally from the Bayou State.
Oregon has already added a couple of defensive backs via the transfer portal this offseason. Safety Evan Williams came over from Fresno State, safety Tysheem Johnson came over from Ole Miss and cornerback Khyree Jackson joined the squad from Alabama.
The Ducks lost cornerback Christian Gonzalez to the NFL Draft last week when he was selected by the New England Patriots and they're looking for more pieces to build out the secondary. Demetrice Martin signed five cornerbacks from the high school ranks in 2023 but it looks like this coaching staff isn't going to be complacent and isn't going to hesitate adding more players from the portal if they feel like they have the right fit.
