Oregon Visits Speedy Wide Receiver Gatlin Bair as Decision Nears

Junior Adams is hard at work working to add another gem to his wide receiver haul in the 2024 cycle.

Oregon already inked a trio of All-American wide receivers during the early signing period last month, but Junior Adams is hungry for more. Which is why he hit the recruiting trail and made his way out to Idaho on Monday.

The Oregon wide receivers coach stopped in Burley, Idaho to visit Gatlin Bair, one of the top uncommitted recruits in the country for the 2024 cycle.

Bair's head coach Cameron Andersen announced the visit over social media, as the 6-foot-3, 195-pound wide receiver is eying his college decision during the February signing day.

The speedy route runner has 27 reported scholarship offers, but will choose from a final two of Oregon and Michigan. He visited Eugene back in November for the USC game and continues to be impressed by the direction of Dan Lanning's program.

"Coach [Dan] Lanning and Junior [Adams] are two incredible guys," Bair said in a recent interview with Ducks Digest. "I think they do an incredible job and they're going to continue to do an incredible job. I think Oregon's going to continue to get better and better."

The Ducks have made Bair a clear priority this cycle, as Monday's visit was hardly the first time the coaching staff has made it out to see him Idaho. Head coach Dan Lanning, as well as offensive coordinator Will Stein have also made recent stops.

Adams' trip on Monday was supposed to happen on Friday, but the weather delayed the visit, a source told Ducks Digest.

Monday's trip is even more important for Oregon's recruiting efforts with Bair, as Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh interviewed for the Los Angeles Chargers head coaching job, according to NFL insider Adam Schefter.

The All-American wide receiver has said on the record that Harbaugh's decision to staying with the defending champions or return to the NFL ranks will play a role in his final decision.

Michigan is the current 247Sports crystal ball leader to land Bair according to national recruiting experts Steve Wiltfong and Brandon Huffman, who have logged their picks with a level "4" confidence. However, Oregon appears to have clear stability at the top of their program with Dan Lanning remaining in Eugene amid another round of the coaching carousel.

Only time will tell if Bair ends up Eugene and joins elite wide receivers Jeremiah McClellan and Ryan Pellum, but it's clear that the Ducks are putting in the work on the recruiting trail to give themselves a fighting chance.
