Texas A&M Wide Receiver Evan Stewart to Visit Oregon Ducks, Per Report
Dan Lanning and the Ducks are set to host one of the best available players in the transfer portal.
Texas A&M wide receiver Evan Stewart will visit Oregon this weekend, according to a report from Matt Zenitz of 247Sports.
Stewart is 247's No. 2 ranked player in the transfer portal after electing to leave College Station last month. During his two seasons with the Aggies the 6-foot, 175-pound wide receiver caught 91 passes for 1,163 receiving yards and 6 touchdowns.
He's a player that is well known around the college football scene nationally, as was a former five-star (0.9999 according to 247Sports) recruit in the class of 2022. Stewart was ranked the No. 6 player nationally, the No. 1 wide receiver and the No. 2 recruit in Texas.
The Memphis native played his high school football for Frisco (Tex.) Liberty High School before signing with Texas A&M as part of the best recruiting class in Aggies program history.
Dan Lanning and the Ducks have been exploring their options at wide receiver in the transfer portal this offseason after losing record-setting pass catcher Troy Franklin to the NFL Draft. The Ducks offered wide receivers in the transfer portal including Zavion Thomas (LSU) and Cyrus Allen (Texas A&M) before they landed at different schools.
On Thursday, wide receiver Tez Johnson announced that he will return to Eugene for the 2024 season, giving Junior Adams' room a big boost.
Oregon recruited and hosted Stewart's former teammate, defensive lineman Walter Nolen before he announced his commitment to Lane Kiffin and the Ole Miss Rebels.
