TJ Lindsey Locks in Oregon Visit as Spring Comes Into Focus

Oregon offered TJ Lindsey in January and recently visited him on the road out in Arkansas.

February is coming to an end, which means that recruits across the country are filling up their calendars for visits this spring.

The Oregon Ducks offered 2024 Bryant (Ark.) defensive lineman TJ Lindsey in January and he told Ducks Digest that he's locked in a visit to Eugene.

"In April the only one I have locked for sure is Oregon on the 29th," Lindsey said.

The 6-foot-5, 265-pound lineman has never been to Eugene but has wanted to for some time.

"No, I haven't. But I've always wanted to. It's a lot of kids dream to take a visit somewhere like Oregon so it was like a no brainer to me to want to go out there."

There are a couple aspects of the program that he'll have his eye on when he makes the cross-country trip for the Ducks' spring game.

"Getting to see how the coaches just are in general," he said. "How the environment is on a game day, it's not a game day but pretty close to it. How it's all organized and structured. Getting around some of the players, just things like that."

The Arkansas product hears from Oregon "a good majority of the week" as he's started to build relationships with the staff.

"Usually I would talk to obviously the head D-line coach, Coach T (Tony Tuioti)," Lindsey said. "I talk to Tony Washington a lot. I talked to Coach Locklyn before and Tyler Dean."

Tony Tuioti actually made the trip out to Arkansas to see one of Lindsey's basketball games recently and that's one reason he's liking the Ducks.

"I'm high on 'em. I really liked what they say. They're very real and genuine people. Just off of their resumesI know a lot of them can coach.

"I actually met coach T, he flew out to one of my basketball games so you know that speaks volumes, because I mean coming from Eugene all the way to Little Rock, Arkansas, that's not a quick trip."

SIGNEE SPOTLIGHT: 2023 Oregon WR Ashton Cozart

Lindsey likes what he saw from the Ducks in year one of Dan Lanning and spoke about what stands out.

"I will say that they have a lot of benefits and we do fit very well I think, from job opportunity to the team, just how they play in general," he said. "They've had some very good D-lineman throughout the years and most recently Kayvon Thibodeaux obviously. But usually their D-line corps is very good. And then I love the way Dan Lanning coaches.

Looking at the big picture, Lindsey took recent trips to Texas A&M, Kentucky and Tennessee in January. Now his visit itinerary is quickly filling up.

"March 4 I'm going to Oklahoma. March 5 Oklahoma State. March 12 LSU. March 21 Miami, I'm working on that one right now. But those are the for sure ones."

Lindsey added that he could make his way out to Notre Dame and Texas in April as well.

What about a commitment timeline?

"I think I'm going to make a decision either probably mid season, maybe even early season," Lindsey said. "Early season, mid season. Somewhere in there."

With so many schools joining his recruitment in recent months, Lindsey highlighted a group that he's had the most contact with.

"A lot of people. The most I would say Oregon, I've been talking to them a lot. Notre Dame, Texas A&M. Miami. Oklahoma State. Oklahoma. Arkansas. Those are the people that probably have hit me the most consistently throughout this month and there's been a good amount."
