The quarterback headlines just keep coming for Oregon.

UCLA quarterback Dante Moore is expected to visit Oregon this week, according to a report from Pete Nakos of On3 Sports.

Nakos goes on to report that Moore's trip to Eugene will begin on Thursday. He's one of a handful of top targets that are expected in town this week, along with Clemson safety Andrew Mukuba and Kansas State safety Kobe Savage.

Moore is viewed as one of the top quarterbacks available in the transfer portal after spending his freshman season out West with Chip Kelly and the Bruins.

As a freshman, Moore played in 9 games and threw for 1,610 yards and 11 touchdowns against 9 interceptions. He completed 54% of his passes and averaged 178.9 passing yards per game.

Moore's visit to Eugene comes after an eventful weekend at quarterback for the Ducks. The staff landed a commitment from former Oklahoma Sooners quarterback Dillon Gabriel, who looks poised to be Will Stein's starter in 2024 following Bo Nix's departure. Shortly after Gabriel's commitment, news broke that redshirt sophomore Ty Thompson had entered the transfer portal.

There's reason to believe Oregon has a very realistic shot at landing a commitment from Moore heading into this visit.

The 6-foot-3, 210-pound signal caller originally committed to Oregon as a five-star recruit out of Detroit (Mich.) Martin Luther King Jr. Senior High School in the 2023 class, but he went on to flip his commitment to the UCLA Bruins after former offensive coordinator Kenny Dillingham was hired as Arizona State's head coach.

The Ducks have a need at quarterback for a couple reasons. Not only did Thompson enter the transfer portal, but they also had a spot open up after 2024 Baltimore (Md.) St. Frances Academy passer Michael Van Buren, backed off his verbal commitment to the Ducks. He's since committed to Mississippi State.

Moore has said since entering the transfer portal that he's prioritizing development at his next school of choice, and taking a year to learn behind a veteran like Gabriel could be just what the doctor ordered after a rocky debut season in Westwood.

Will Stein and Dan Lanning are expected to sign one quarterback in the 2024 class in Phoenix (Ariz.) Sunnyslope standout Luke Moga.
