2024 Pinson (Ala.) Clay-Chalkville offensive tackle JacQawn McRoy signed with the Oregon Ducks on Wednesday. But his ceremony was a little different from others, as he put pen to paper with some added flair.

The future Duck picked up a black Colorado Buffaloes hat before tossing it to the side in favor of a green Oregon hat.

McRoy's recruitment was one that fans across the country had been monitoring closely heading into Wednesday.

The massive 6-foot-8, 365-pound tackle committed to Oregon in July, but he drew some attention when he made his way out to Boulder for a visit earlier this month.

After watching his son, Buffs quarterback Shedeur Sanders, get sacked game after game, head coach Deion Sanders has been adamant about the importance of rebuilding what was a porous offensive line this year. The Buffs went on a big run landing offensive linemen in the days leading up to signing day, headlined by Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy offensive tackle Jordan Seaton, but McRoy wasn't a part of the string of commitments, and he'll be sticking with the Ducks.

McRoy is rated a four-star (0.9295) recruit according to the 247Sports Composite. The same system ranks him the No. 169 player nationally, the No. 13 offensive tackle and the No. 10 recruit in Alabama.

He chose the Ducks from a final group that also included Ole Miss, Kentucky and Arkansas.

He'll headline a prep offensive line haul that also includes Fox Crader (WA), Trent Ferguson (OR) and Devin Brooks (OR). McRoy isn't the first player A'lique Terry and the Ducks have been battling the Buffs for.

Earlier this week they landed a commitment from Indiana offensive lineman Matthew Bedford, who was previously committed to transfer to Colorado.

Could this be the start of a recruiting rivalry between Oregon and Colorado moving forward?
