Saquon Barkley Talks New York Giants Future at the Super Bowl

''Whatever happens, I'm ready for it," Barkley says in an interview with Sports Illustrated on Radio Row.

Saquon Barkley's future with the New York Giants will be among the lead items of the NFL's offseason. Barkley, who celebrates his 27th birthday Friday, understands that. He also understands those who say he'd be better off leaving the Giants after six seasons.

Barkley is in Las Vegas this week for the Super Bowl pre-game media tour, where he's promoting a new venture and discussing his future. Barkley sat with Sports Illustrated on Super Bowl Radio Row and fielded a question about those who suggest he leave the Giants. Among them is radio host Boomer Esiason, who said he hopes the former Penn State football star gets a "fresh start" elsewhere.

"People saying that I should leave New York? I appreciate it. I gotta value their opinion," Barkley told Sports Illustrated. "They've got a job to do. I respect Boomer a lot, but when it comes to talking about a competitive team, I do believe the year before the New York Football Giants were in the divisional playoffs and we lost to the NFC champions, the Eagles. The NFL is about year to year, and last year we had the injury bug, we had a lot of adversity and we still, even with all that, at some point we had a chance to still make the playoffs.

"I think the Giants, just the organization they have, they're great from top to bottom. I know those men personally in the locker room, and I know the way they come to work and the way they compete. But hey, it's a business. I get it, and whatever happens, I'm ready for it."

Barkley also discussed his season, why he thinks NFL running backs are being undervalued, and his pick for Super Bowl 58 between the San Francisco 49ers and the Kansas City Chiefs. Check out the video above for the full interview with Barkley.
