Celtics Sign Former Pitt F Justin Champagnie
PITTSBURGH -- Former Pitt Panthers forward Justin Champagnie is headed to Boston to join the Celtics, according to The Athletic's Shams Charania.
Champagnie will head to the Celtics from the NBA G League, where he's averaged 18 points and 8 rebounds for the Sioux Falls Skyforce this season. This season, he played just three NBA games, but last year, he played 36 for the Toronto Raptors, averaging seven minutes per game and two rebounds.
Champagnie earned 1st Team All-ACC honors as a sophomore at Pitt after averaging 18 points per game. He played 53 games for Pitt and scored 779 points as a Panther before heading to the NBA.
As a rookie in the NBA, he scored 81 points and grabbed 79 rebounds. The Brooklyn, New York native will now head east to join the Celtics for the playoff push.
