PITTSBURGH -- The Pitt Panthers suffered one of their worst losses of the season this week when they fell, 88-81, on the road at Notre Dame. With a chance to clinch at least a share of first place in the ACC, Pitt floundered at their position in both the conference standings and projected NCAA Tournament brackets suffered.

Pitt moved down to a 10 seed in CBS Sports' Jerry Palm's latest bracketology predictions. Palm had the Panthers pegged as a nine seed prior to the defeat at Notre Dame and has since moved them down to a 10 seed. The Panthers are in the East Region, where'd they play Michigan State in the opening round at Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio. The winner of Marquette-Eastern Washington would await the victor of Spartans-Panthers.

ACC foe Virginia is the four seed in that region and West Virginia and Michigan - two opponents who decimated the Panthers earlier in the year - would meet in the First Four for the right to play in the true first round in the East Region. The regional finals for the East are played in New York City at Madison Square Garden.
