ESPN Analyst Praises Pitt Star Freshman
PITTSBURGH -- The Pitt Panthers have a star freshman on their hands whose consistent play has made him one of the best players his age in all of college basketball.
Carrington has continued to play a balanced game that features playmaking alongside efficient shooting and it's caught the eye of ESPN's Jeff Borzello.
"Carrington entered the offseason in a battle with fellow freshman Jaland Lowe for the starting point guard spot, but won it outright and cemented the soundness of the decision with a triple-double in his first-ever college game: 18 points, 12 boards and 10 assists against North Carolina A&T," Borzello wrote in his "Best of the Best" freshman list.
Carrington is the only ACC freshman listed among the "Best of the Best" group that Borzello put together.
"He's only had a couple of down games, hitting double figures in all but two games and possessing better than a 3:1 assist-to-turnover ratio," Borzello wrote. "Averaging 14.0 points, 5.3 rebounds and 5.7 assists."
