PITTSBURGH -- With the dust settled on 2023 National Signing Day, many around the country are taking stock of recruiting classes in the country and the Pitt Panthers' class is also subject to evaluation.

ESPN recruiting analyst Craig Haubert released a list of the top-75 2024 recruiting classes in college football and Pitt found themselves in the middle of his rankings, checking in at No. 41 nationally and No. 9 in the ACC.

Miami (6th), Florida State (9th), Clemson (15th), Stanford (26th) North Carolina (27th), NC State (30th), Georgia Tech (35th) and Virginia Tech (39th) were the ACC members ranked ahead of Pitt.

Haubert likes what the Panthers did adding talent along the defensive front with two standout defensive ends and a thumping local linebacker.

"The Panthers are loading up on defensive line talent, including Jahsear Whittington, who can be a powerful and stout presence in the trenches. DE Zachary Crothers is a strong addition out of South Florida championship program Chaminade-Madonna," Haubert wrote. "His coaches have spoken highly of his upside and he has backed that up with his play tallying double-digit sacks and finishing among the team leaders in TFLs last season. Cameron Lindsey was a very nice hometown area addition and not surprisingly seems like a great fit as he a physical presence at the LB position."

Haubert is less wowed by the offensive talent the Panthers added but still believes there are some potential stars along the trenches, where they have lost a slew of productive veterans over the past two seasons.

"On offense they have added some strong pieces to their trenches including Caleb Holmes, an ESPN 300 player out of Georgia," Haubert said. "And in-state high-three star Jiavani Cooley."
