Former Pitt QB Hired at Boston College
PITTSBURGH -- A former Pitt Panthers signal caller moved onto his coaching career before his eligibility was up and it proves to have been a smart move as he earns another job with an ACC rival.
Former Pitt quarterback turned offensive assistant for the Panthers, Eli Kosanavich, has accepted with a job as a graduate assistant with Boston College, following another former Pitt assistant in Jonathan DiBiaso, who is now the quarterbacks coach for the Eagles.
Kosanavich joined the Panthers as a walk-on after a standout career as a football and basketball player at powerhouse Aliquippa High School. He threw for 3,189 yards, 39 touchdowns and only six interceptions while completing 63% of his passes as a senior, leading the Quips to a 14-1 record and WPIAL and PIAA championships. He played in one game during his four years at Pitt.
The Eagles underwent massive changes to their coaching staff this offseason when head coach Jeff Haffley opted to leave the program for a defensive coordinator job with the Green Bay Packers. Former New New England Patriots and Alabama offensive coordinator and Houston Texans and Penn State head coach, Bill O'Brien replaced him and has brought a brand new coaching staff with him.
Pitt will get to face off with DiBiaso, Kosanovich and the new-look Eagles in Week 12, when Boston College hosts the Panthers at Alumni Stadium in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts.
