PITTSBURGH -- With their historic, restorative season has come to an end, the Pitt Panthers will have to say goodbye to their many seniors, none of whom started their careers with the program but nonetheless left an indelible mark on the team and school. 

Greg Elliot wrote a kind message to Pitt's fans and his teammates on Instagram. He spent four years at Marquette but had the most successful season of his college career with the Panthers, averaging career-highs in points, rebounds, 3-point field goals made and attempted and shooting the second-highest percentage from deep of his career. 

"PITTSBURGH I Just Want To Say Thank You For Everything!!!" Elliot wrote. "Y’all helped make my last season extremely Special I Wish it Could’ve lasted Forever. Corner Store is officially closed in college!! H2P."

Sibande also bid farewell to the program he spent three seasons with. While one was spent on the sideline as he recovered from a knee injury but he returned in style in 2022-23, averaging 8.4 points and 4.1 rebounds on the way to ACC Sixth Man of the Year honors. 

"Appreciate all the [love] and support PITT!" Sibande wrote. "Through all the ups and downs y’all stuck by me and made this last season special! It was a great ride but stay tuned in until next time"

Stephen Thompson graduated with a bachelor's degree in communications and political science from Pitt in April 2022 after spending four years as a sports writer and editor at The Pitt News, the University of Pittsburgh's independent, student-run newspaper.  He primarily worked the Pitt men's basketball beat, and filled in on coverage of football, volleyball, softball, gymnastics and lacrosse, in addition to other sports as needed. His work at The Pitt News has won awards from the Pennsylvania News Media Association and Associated College Press.  During the spring and summer of 2021, Stephen interned for Pittsburgh Sports Now, covering baseball in western Pennsylvania.
