PITTSBURGH -- The Pitt Panthers were riding a hot streak to close the first half of their final regular season game against NC State and their job will get just a little easier in the second half.

Because late in the first half, NC State's leading scorer and the second-best 3-point shooter in the ACC by percentage exited the game with a lower body injury, according to the television broadcast, and did not return. He exited the game having scored just three points on 1-3 shooting from the field.

When Horne left the game, Pitt was in the middle of a 23-8 run that closed the first half. They took a 39-29 lead into the break as they looked to finish the regular season strong and build on their NCAA Tournament resume.

The Wolfpack, who made just one of their eight attempts from deep, sorely missed Horne and would continue to throughout the game. Horne is averaging 17.2 points per game and shooting 42.9% from 3-point range, both of which are career-highs.
