WASHINGTON, DC -- The Pitt Panthers have been idle since last weekend but as they awaited their first game of the ACC Tournament, their postseason resume got a big lift from another team in the conference.

With N.C. State knocking off Syracuse in the second round of the ACC Tournament by a final score of 83-65, the Wolfpack jumped from 79th to 73rd in the NCAA NET Rankings, giving Pitt an extra Quad 1 win, their third of the season.

Leading scorer D.J. Horne suffered an injury that kept him out of the second half of the Wolfpack's regular season finale at the Petersen Events Center and he didn't play in their first round game against Louisville in the ACC Tournament. But he returned against the Orange and scored 16 points on 6-13 shooting. Jayden Taylor led the way with 18 points and 9 rebounds.

The Panthers dropped a spot in the rankings themselves from 44th to 45th overnight but will have a chance to add another Quad 1 win to their resume this afternoon when they battle Wake Forest in the ACC quarterfinals at Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C.
