Pitt Panthers Fall to Boston College in Opening Round of ACC Tournament
The Pitt Panthers took a first-round exit in the 2022 ACC Tournament, falling to Boston College 66-46.
The Panthers entered as the 12th seed after a 11-20 season.
Pitt finished the first half trailing 33-22. Guard Jamarius Burton and forward John Hugley led the half with eight points. The senior-sophomore duo also combined for a solid defensive effort. Burton recorded two steals and a rebound, and Hugley grabbed three boards.
The second half didn't start well for the Panthers, who went more than nine minutes between baskets. By their first points in the second half, Pitt trailed 46-27.
The deficit never shrunk below 10 points for the remainder of the game, as the Panthers lost their final game of the season, 66-46.
Pitt was led by Hugley, who finished with 15 points and eight rebounds. Burton finished with 10 points and three steals, and Mouhamadou Gueye had 12 points and six rebounds.
